Chicken Karahi Pakistani

Karahi means is cooking pot It looks for wok, Deep and flat. The traditional way to stays fry chicken in this karahi.

This same method you can make boneless chicken karahi. But I prefer chicken with bones. It makes more flavor full curries. Important to make boneless chicken breast small pieces.

There are so many verities to make chicken karahi, Lahori chicken karahi, Mutton karahi, Peshawari karahi, Dhaba style karahi. Some karahi adds the onion. traditional karahi recipe does not add the onion. Use fresh ginger, green chilis, crush black pepper cone.

1 whole chicken cut into medium pieces

2 large tomatoes chopped

1/2 cup thick yogurt

2 tbsp black pepper powder

4 green chilis chopped

1 tbsp fresh ginger cut into Julin

1/2 cup oil

Salt to taste

Chicken Karahi Pakistani


In a cooking pot add oil once oil hot add all chicken pieces. fry high flame 7 min, until chicken color change.

Now add tomatoes again high flame saute 6 min until tomato becomes soft. Now add all chilis, black pepper, ginger Julin mix very well again saute 5 min.

Chicken Karahi Pakistani

Add yogurt mix and cover-up. Cooking time 18 min medium flame. until chicken tender soft.

Serve with tandoori naan, chapati, bread.
